Welcome to the QLD Branch of the Economic Society of Australia and host of the 2008 Conference (ACE2008) which will be held in the Gold Coast, Queensland on 30 September to 3 October 2008 at the Holiday Inn Gold Coast, with a special focus on:
Infrastructure, Central Banking and Trade with a tour of the Gold Coast Desalination Plant included.

The Queensland Branch of the Society's main role is to promote discussion of, and debate about, economic issues and economic policies. It does this by:
- publishing a journal, Economic Analysis and Policy twice a year. The Queensland Branch has published Economic Analysis and Policy for over 30 years and its objective is to publish papers which have a policy focus.
- conducting regular monthly meetings through the Colloquium and Conversazione Series and occasional Business Forums and Seminars and Conferences
- producing an occasional Latest Newsletter
