As a Principal Advisor within our Advocate team, this is a newly created, business-critical role that calls for a ‘big-picture’ thinker who also understands the real life practicalities of local government. You will be providing high level advice and direction across a wide range of economic and finance oriented issues including financial modelling, taxation and revenue raising, economic reform and intergovernmental financial relations. You will also be the first point of contact for senior General Managers, other Advocate team members and various LGAQ officers for all finance and economic queries.
Tertiary qualified in a relevant discipline and a genuine front-line Economist, you will have a broad macro-economic background with extensive experience within Government and Governance environments. Your ability to interpret complex financial data, identify and act on key take-outs, and effectively communicate the implications will be exemplary. You work well with other senior advisors, have excellent writing skills and can genuinely influence changes in thinking and policy.
