Our clients must make tough decisions about how best to allocate resources to meet their objectives. To help with these decisions, SKM has a national team of dedicated Economists who operate as part of our strategic consulting business. SKM is seeking an experienced Economist to work within our Brisbane office. This position will play a key role in the development of strategies and plans and the development of project feasibility studies by conducting financial and economic analyses. The role includes undertaking analysis to support submissions to Government agencies and private clients.
To be considered you must have proven experience in similar role ideally within an engineering consultancy. Successful candidates will have highly developed analytical, research, and quantitative skills with the proven ability to apply these skills to financial and economic analyses. A good understanding of the application of economics, particularly in one of the following areas is sought after:-
- Mining
- Water / Environment
- Energy
- Infrastructure
- Transport
Degree in Economics or with relevant qualifications, you will have some commercial experience in economic or financial analysis and be able to compile complex and detailed technical reports in plain English. You will possess strong economic modelling skills with a good working knowledge of legislation and the ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines. You will have excellent interpersonal and report writing skills.
