"What the GFC means for superannuation. Two points of view: yours, and the governments'"
The global financial crisis has impacted on every Australian with superannuation. The retirement dreams of many soon-to-be-retirees are currently being reconsidered. Current retirees are watching their savings erode. And the same is true for the government. Government estimates of future superannuation revenue and reduced age pension outlays also need to be reconsidered. This talk will discuss the impact of the GFC on superannuation from both these perspectives and show some estimates of the impact using a new dynamic microsimulation model being developed at NATSEM.
