Economic Papers

Economic Papers

Introduction
Economic Papers is intended to be a forum for the presentation and discussion of the views of a wide range of economists, from business, government and academic communities. Papers deal with issues in business economics, applied economics, or economic policy, and  have contemporary relevance to economists, policy makers, and business economists in Australia . The primary thrust of the papers are the discussion of policy rather than the presentation of evidence. Economic Papers has a distinctly different role from that of its sister journal, the Economic Record. It is not intended to publish articles in Economic Papers if they are purely theoretical, or present extensive econometric or other empirical evidence, unless the implications of that evidence for policy purposes are made clear.

The Economic Society of Australia is particularly interested in publishing contributions from economists working in business or government that apply economic analysis to practical and policy issues. Preference is given to non-technical articles of broad and topical interest that will appeal to a wide range of readers. Papers should normally be in the range of 3,000-5,000 words.

Letters to the editors or short notes are also invited, in which readers present in concise form (up to 1,000 words) comments on papers or addresses that have recently been published in Economic Papers, or on economic issues of current importance and relevance.

Economic Papers is a refereed journal.
